Hand made in Oakland California by blacksmith Elias Sideris in 52100 carbon steel with a milled brass ferrule, and ‘rat-tail’ grooved antique Honduran rosewood wood handle wiht brass ferrule and pins. A ‘rat tail’ grooved (named after the rat tail file traditionally used to shape bolsters in a similar fashion.
The blade is ground with a convex face thin behind the edge and is oil quenched and hardened to approximately 61 HRC giving them an excellent blend of edge formation, toughness and easy sharpening.
