Editor’s Notes
A beautifully aged Christofle silver-plated champagne bucket, crafted in France and stamped with the maker’s hallmark and model number 2992214.
This piece features the classic Christofle lozenge hallmark bearing the “OC” initials for Orfèvrerie Christofle, alongside the scales mark — a symbol reserved for the house’s fine silverplate. Beneath, the impressed model number identifies the original design and production mold used in Christofle’s workshops, placing this piece within the mid-20th century, likely the 1950s–1960s.
With its simple, timeless form and substantial weight, this bucket embodies Christofle’s signature blend of refined craftsmanship and understated French elegance. Perfect for chilling a favorite vintage or serving as a striking centerpiece, it’s a collectible reminder of the golden era of Parisian silver design.
