Indian Racer Chef 245mm

Possibly the fastest blade in our collection, the Indian Racer is created by Andrés Maldonado, inspired inside and out by his beloved Indian Motorcycle Scout Bobber. Designed and crafted meticulously at his Córdoba studio with the chef’s equivalent of low-and-slow in his every step toward completion, an undeniable, visceral, and high velocity sensation is the resulting experience of Andrés’ efforts. Paying homage to the elegance, balance, authenticity, and of course, the speed of his Scout Bobber, Andrés, a life-long maker, marries his two passions, culinary knifemaking, and his cherished motorcycle, in the form of a one-of-a-kind chef knife. The blade, long and bold with superb convex geometry, a full-distal taper, and finely honed 245mm edge, sports a polished, forced patina finish calibrated to match the tone of his bike: a deep, beautiful, reddish-orange glow. Mimicking the darkest elements, from handlebars to seat, the fully-forged integral keyhole bolster and steel butt cap have been blackened. Stabilized in resin and sculpted for comfort, birch root fills the center of the tool’s striking handle, boasting warm tones not dissimilar to those of the fuel tank. For a final touch of distinction as deserved by such a refined machine as the Indian Motorcycle to which it lends company, fine silver joins steel with wood to complete the grip of this work of culinary art.
