Vintage J A Henckels carbon steel cleaver made in Soilngen Germany likely in the 1960s judging from combination of older style handle rivets and sans-serif logo.
The blade is very full free from rust and aside from a few dings on the spine where it was dummkopf-ed is in really great condition. The blonde wood handle is a dense fine-grained wood, looks like boxwood.
