In high-performance RWL-34 stainless steel, created by Damasteel in small batches at their north Sweden forge, the 227mm / 8.9″ blade enjoys Don’s meticulous, freehand convex bevel geometry, finished with a silky, hand-sanded satin sheen. Versatile and balanced for a wide variety of cuts, the long, slim profile boasts just enough curvature to rock and carve with ease, paired with a short heel and fine, pointed tip, perfect for long, precise slices of vegetables and proteins alike. Measuring 2.5mm wide above the blade’s rounded, polished choil, the ‘stepped’ blade spine combines stiffness in the rear, with a slight touch of lateral flexibility in the forward half due to Don’s carefully honed distal taper, further aiding this one-of-a-kind knife’s ability to carve any dish. For comfort, control, and an at-once both playful and elegant aesthetic, Don sculpts pearly-white ‘ivory’ G10 to form his well loved full-tang handle shape, securing it with a pair of hand-peened, domed stainless steel pins, and adorning it with his iconic, round inlay using a unique and beautiful acrylic.
