Barely used Carl Schleipper 12″ carbon steel slicer most likely made in Solingen Germany in the 1960s, with hand-ground, drop-forged blade, and cherry wood handle scales with brass rivets. Hand ground has a old style, narrow bolster and convex face, characteristic of hand ground knives. The tang has no taper and the blade is a hair less dramatically tapered. This, along with the solid wood handle with brass compression rivets rather than pin and disc rivets suggests a 1960s hand-forged manufacture.
The blade was possibly never used, but had one rust spot near the mark that needed a light buffing to remove. In excellent condition otherwise.
